Weigh-in-motion systems are designed for workflows where a vehicle crosses the weighing pads at a controlled speed rather than stopping on each position. They can shorten repetitive checks, but accuracy depends on the specified setup and operating procedure. Use the manufacturer’s instructions for pad placement, approach, crossing speed, axle spacing, and indicator configuration.
The two US-WIM3113 configurations serve the same broad moving-vehicle decision with different communication arrangements. The cabled US-WIM3113 requires protected cable routing. The wireless US-WIM3113W reduces cross-site cables but requires attention to battery condition, charging, pairing, and wireless range.
A firm, level approach and repeatable vehicle path are essential. Review the required ramp arrangement, clear approach distance, pad alignment, tire tracking, maximum crossing speed, weather exposure, and how the system will be protected from shifting or cable damage.
Confirm whether the selected configuration includes the intended indicator, carrying case, printer function, vehicle identification workflow, storage capacity, and export capability. A printed axle or gross-weight ticket is not proof that the system is certified for commercial transactions.
If vehicles can stop for each reading, compare portable axle scale pads or axle platform scales. Static systems may better suit occasional checks, constrained sites, or procedures that require a stationary reading.
Before using any result for a commercial charge, citation, or regulatory decision, confirm the exact model’s approval, installation, and operating procedure with the relevant authority. Do not infer legal-for-trade status from capacity, printer capability, or product category.
