Confirm pallet and fork compatibility

Fork dimensions should match the pallets used in your operation. Standard and narrow configurations are not interchangeable for every pallet style, so verify fork length, overall width, individual fork width, lowered height, and turning space before purchase. Also check the scale’s rated capacity against the heaviest loaded pallet.

Printing, connectivity, and legal-for-trade use

Integrated or optional printers can support weight tickets and receiving records. Other models may offer serial, USB, or wireless data paths. If weight determines a commercial charge, confirm whether an NTEP legal-for-trade configuration is required and whether certification, inspection, or local sealing is needed after installation.

Construction and workflow

Consider floor conditions, travel distance, wheel and roller material, battery access, charging, display position, and exposure to moisture or corrosive materials. Stainless models may suit more demanding environments, but the full system specifications should be reviewed. Compare floor scales for stationary pallet weighing and bench scales for cartons and smaller containers. Review available scale printers when ticket or receipt output is part of the workflow.
