How to choose an industrial floor scale

Start with the heaviest load you expect to weigh, then select a capacity that leaves practical headroom without sacrificing the resolution your process requires. Platform size matters just as much: the load should sit safely on the deck without overhang. Consider how material will reach the platform, including forklift placement, carts, pallet jacks, ramps, or a pit-mounted installation.

Match construction to the environment

Painted steel platforms suit many dry industrial spaces, while stainless-steel and washdown-oriented designs are better candidates for wet, corrosive, food-processing, or sanitation-sensitive environments. Review the indicator enclosure, cable protection, junction box, and available ramps or guard rails—not only the deck material.

Certification, indicators, and connectivity

If weight determines a commercial charge, confirm whether an NTEP legal-for-trade configuration is required for the intended use and jurisdiction.
