Capacity and suspended-load safety

Select a rated capacity that exceeds the maximum expected suspended load and confirm that every load-bearing component in the lifting system is appropriate for the application. The weighing device does not replace approved lifting procedures, inspections, rigging practices, or safety controls. Review the manufacturer’s documentation for allowable loading, operating temperature, and installation orientation.

Readability and controls

Display size and viewing distance matter when the operator cannot stand near the load. Depending on the model, useful features may include a handheld remote, hold, tare, accumulation, wireless communication, or a separate display. Confirm what is included and whether optional accessories are required.

Environment and accuracy requirements

Dust, moisture, washdown, corrosion, vibration, and outdoor use can narrow the suitable choices. Stainless construction does not automatically mean every component has the same environmental rating. Compare enclosures, batteries, connectors, hooks, shackles, and remote devices as a complete system.
